| A: | Essential Drugs Company Limited (EDCL) is a 100% state owned pharmaceutical company under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh (GOB) to ensure and assist the smooth health care service for general public of Bangladesh. |

| A: | EDCL Dhaka Plant and Head Office is located at 395-397, Tejgaon Industrial Area, Dhaka, EDCL Bogra Plant is located at Thanthania, Bogra, Khulna Essential Latex Plant (KELP) is located at Gilatola, Khulna, Essential latex Processing Plant at Madhupur, Tangail and its EDCL 3rd Plant is located at Ghunapara, Gopalganj. |

| A: | EDCL was established on October 10th , 1983 |

| A: | Main product lines are Tablets, Syrup, Capsules, Ointments and Injections EDCL produces more than 150 items including Cephalosporin injectable item a 4th generation medicine and male condoms. A list of products manufactured by EDCL may be obtained on request to the Managing Director of the Company. |

| A: | EDCL manufactures life savings drugs and supplies to all Government Hospitals, Civil Surgeon Offices and other Government, Semi Government organizations, Community Clinic. Also supplies medicines to WHO, UNICEF, Social Marketing Company (SMC) etc. through international biddings in Bangladesh. In addition, it also exports its products to Srilanka, Bhutan etc. |
